Big Bang Education’s ‘Push and Pull’ program has been designed to help teachers achieve the Australian Curriculum science understanding in Physical Sciences for Year 2:

A push or a pull affects how an object moves or changes shape (ACSSU033).

It is an exciting introduction to pushing and pulling forces.

Year 2 students will first experience an entertaining science show which introduces them to the basics of push and pull forces, including exploring how push and pull forces can affect the shape of objects and observing how different strength forces cause objects to move in different ways.

During the hands-on workshop that follows, students will investigate the forces different surfaces exert on a dropped object; and explore how push and pull forces can make different objects move.

  • A large indoor space – your school hall is ideal! We would need enough space to have both the science show and workshop set up at the same time to allow for maximum use of time.
  • Five trestle tables or equivalent
