The ‘Is It Fair? How To Be A Scientist’ program has been designed to help teachers achieve the Australian Curriculum content descriptions in Science as a Human Endeavour and Science Enquiry Skills.

Students will learn about the concept of a fair test and the scientific method of experimentation.

Students participate in a range of learning methods and scientific techniques including class discussion, class experimentation, group activities and experiments, measuring and recording data, analysing results and preparing experiments.

The activities and experiments cover the full range of topics including Biological Sciences, Earth and Space Sciences, Chemical Sciences and Physical Sciences.

The program is intended for age groups from Years 1-6.

Workshops are delivered by a professional science educator with over 10 years of experience.

Program Outline

The program includes:

  • 60 minute session with hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations for each individual class (maximum of 30 children)
  • Follow-up worksheets emailed to the booking teacher
